Ahead of the release of his fourth studio album Thug Motivation 103, Young Jeezy has been discussing why he’s decided to feature some lesser-known hip hop acts in the forms of Plies and Yo Gotti.

“Me and Gotti kind of came up at the same time,” Jeezy told MTV News. “But I respected his grind just as well as he respected mine. Same thing with Plies.” He also revealed it was important to show his Southern roots with his collaboration. “Of course I’ve sold records in other places, but I don’t ever want to forget [where I come from]. So look who I’m bringing with me. You heard of them, but you don’t know them. But now you know them.”

Plies is featured on the track Lose My Mind while Yo Gotti appears on All White Everything – two of the first three singles on the album – while Lil Jon also features later on the track Jizzle.
